Friday Night Skills Club
The GCS Skills Club is a weekly, player-centered program, taught by our licensed, professional coaches, that focuses on developing basic soccer skills. For the beginner and recreational players, core skills such as dribbling, moves, passing and receiving, and shooting will be taught. All skills are taught with fun skill-building activities and small-sided games.
Why Join the Skills Club?
Kids have more fun playing soccer when they can dribble through defenders, make timely passes, and take exciting shots. Unlike other sports, soccer players' dependence on their feet requires that they learn to control and manipulate the ball at a very young age (see box below). The Skills Club program was developed to improve these fundamental skills for players ages 4-12 so they can have more success and more fun on the field. The Skills Club runs 6 weeks in the spring season and 8 weeks in the fall.
