Gulf Coast Soccer takes pride in offering a wide variety of soccer programs to meet the needs of players of all ages, abilities, and interest levels. We understand and appreciate that some kids want to play year-round, while others may want to play just one season a year. Some kids want to play “just for fun” while others want to challenge themselves to train and play at the highest level possible. All are welcome here!

Full-Service Club

Players develop at their own pace and we strive to provide full-service soccer options throughout their youth career. We also understand that players enter the game at different ages with varying levels of athletic ability. While it is common for players as young as 3-4 years old to join our club and remain with us throughout high school, it is also common for players 10-14 years old to begin playing soccer for the first time. Our small-sided rec programs for older players make it easy for 15-18 year olds to enjoy playing soccer for the first time. We discourage players from thinking it is ever too late to learn something new in soccer or in life. While older players may have less experience than those that started younger, older players are typically more focused and self-motivated and thus can learn at a faster pace. It’s never too late to learn and soccer is a game you can play for life so don’t hold yourself back!

The advantage of a full-service club is that we can provide all of these options for players at any given time throughout their youth. As players mature or their needs, interests, and ability levels change, they can move back and forth between programs or playing levels and remain within the same club and keep playing.

  • The First Touch Program is designed specifically for 3- and 4-year-olds who are ready to take their first touches on the ball in an organized soccer setting. This is a parent child participation program where the focus is on social development and physical literacy in an age-appropriate manner.
  • The Micro Soccer Program offers 4- and 5-year olds an introduction to the game in an age appropriate manner. The focus is on helping your child learn basic skills and develop a lifelong love for the sport of soccer.
  • The Recreational Soccer Program is designed to provide enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. The focus is on participation, team building, sportsmanship, physical fitness, and learning, etc. for players ages 6 and up.
  • The Academy Program is a player development program for boys and girls from U7 through U10. The Academy program provides a more formal and faster-paced level of technical training preparing players for higher levels of play at U11 and above. Refer to our Pillars of Player Development and Levels of Play Offered By Gulf Coast Soccer documents for more information.
  • Our Select Program offers a more rigorous training environment and a higher level of competition for players U11 and older. There are a variety of competition levels available to select-level players, ranging from our local Division II league to the Premier (Super II and Division I) leagues that play a mixture of games in SE Texas, Houston and beyond. To meet the needs of all our players, Gulf Coast aspires to field tiered teams at both the Premier and Division II levels for all age groups from U11 through U19. Please refer to our Pillars of Player Development and Levels of Play Offered By Gulf Coast Soccer documents for more information.

   Supplemental Programs

  • Our spring Coed High School 7v7 Program is designed to provide U15-U19 players who may not be playing high school soccer with an avenue to keep playing in a club environment. Because of the small-sided game structure, the program is also an ideal environment for new players to enter the game. Please refer to the Benefits of Small Sided Games document for more information.
  • Our Skills Club Program is intended to provide recreational players with an affordable opportunity to train one day a week with a Gulf Coast trainer. The focus is on basic skills of dribbling, 1v1 moves, passing, receiving, shooting, attacking, and defending.
